Goriznik or Adam's rib

Harefoot or Adam's rib helped a lot

The people call the Adam's rib interesting medicinal plant - horticultural. Its long root, when dried entirely, becomes as hard as bone, and really resembles a rib. The names of the royal root, the king-potion, the boyar cap, the gircha, the krinichnik were also stuck behind him.

There are several types of mountain grass growing in Russia. I will tell you about the largest of them - Morison's mountaineer (Peucedanum morisonii). It is found in meadows in the south of Western Siberia, in Altai and northern Kazakhstan. Morison's sorrel is a perennial herb of the Umbelliferae family with a massive radish-like root.

Stems are single or few in number (up to 3-4), moderately branching, up to 2 meters high. The leaves are ternate with long segments. Large shaggy (hence the name boyar's cap) multi-rayed umbrellas of inflorescences with small yellowish flowers are located at the ends of stems and branches. Blooms in July-August. By the way, flowers are eagerly visited by bees, because the mountain forest is an excellent honey plant. Fruits are large (8 mm long and 4 mm wide) elliptical two-seedlings. They ripen in september.

The properties of the mountaineer

The plant is simply stuffed with healing substances! They are found in the root, and in the leaves, and in the flowers and seeds. Fatty and essential oils (up to 2%), flavonoids, and sugars are found in seeds. The leaves and flowers contain coumarins, kaempferol, rutin, quercetin, isorhamnetin. But most of all biologically active substances are concentrated in the root - it is not for nothing that the mountaineer is called the royal root! Scientists have isolated drugs from the roots peucedanin and arangelin.

In scientific medicine, peucedanin is used to treat vitiligo - uneven skin pigmentation and circular baldness, and also as a means of enhancing the effect of the anticancer drug thiophosphamide. Arangelin is used for coronary insufficiency, gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer, for diseases of the gallbladder, as an antispasmodic agent for spastic colitis.

The use of a mountainous

In folk medicine, Morison's mountaineer is used for epilepsy, cancer, inflammation of the gallbladder, heart disease, colds, headaches, as a diuretic and improving digestion for stomach ulcers and duodenal ulcers, for coughing with a large accumulation of sputum, constipation, scurvy. The gordes are also used in Tibetan medicine. Use the herb during flowering, as well as the roots.

The roots are harvested in early spring or late autumn. They are cleaned and dried. The roots have a pungent spicy taste and a specific smell. How can you not remember that the scientific name of the genus gorichnik (Peucedanum) goes back to Dioscorides and comes from the Greek peukedanon, composed of two words peuke - "spruce" or "bitter, pungent" and danos - "dry", according to the pungent, resinous smell and taste of the plant root. Grass and roots are crushed and dried in attics. Raw materials are stored in paper bags for two years.

Medicines in everyday life - decoction, tincture, ointment. To prepare the broth, take 4 teaspoons of crushed raw materials for 1 cup of boiling water and leave for 15-20 minutes. Use inside 1 tablespoon three times a day. The tincture is made on vodka: 5 teaspoons of raw materials are insisted on 200 g of vodka in a warm place for 10 days; apply orally 25 drops three times a day. Topically applied as a 0.5% ointment in addition to combined treatment for breast cancer.

Cultivation of a mountaineer

It is not difficult to grow a mountain garden on a personal plot. Seeds sown before winter give amicable shoots in early spring. When sowing seeds in spring should be pre-stratified, i.e. soak for 30-40 days in damp sand at a temperature of about 0 ° C (you can in the refrigerator). Sow in early spring in grooves to a depth of 1.5-2 cm in normal garden soil. Seedlings will grow over the summer.

In the fall or early spring of next year, it must be planted in a permanent place. Plants are placed in a lighted place after 30-35 cm. They do not need special care, mountain forests are unpretentious, winter-hardy, drought-resistant. In one place they can grow up to 20 years. The roots can be used from the second year. An area of 1 square meter is more than enough to provide a family with medicinal raw materials for several years. 1-2 roots are enough for a year. In the future, planting will be resumed by self-seeding. Unfortunately, there is absolutely no such thing as mountain seeds on sale in the Semyon stores. You cannot find them even in Moscow.

Anyone who wishes to grow this valuable medicinal plant on their site, I will gladly send the seeds of the mountaineer. They, as well as seeds of more than 200 other medicinal, spicy, ornamental plants, can be ordered from the catalog. Send an envelope with your address - in it you will receive a catalog for free.

The catalog can also be found on the website www.sem-ot-anis.narod.ru or to receive by e-mail - send a request to E-mail: [email protected] My mailing address: 634024, Tomsk, st. 5th Army, 29, apt. 33, mob. t. +7 (913) 851-81-03 - Anisimov Gennady Pavlovich.

    Topic: Our-your poems.

    * * *
To forget everything with total oblivion,
and live in a desert of chaos of ideas.
    Doesn't fall - flies paradoxically
    maple leaf over my fall.

And if it was, it was not with me.
There are thousands of good reasons for this.
Here is this shot about how I dig the earth,
in a roofless church - why is it wrong for you?

Here the past was resurrected, and the system
memories began to change the world.
I usually get drunk on the palm,
    maybe I won't get drunk, I won't lie.

Now it's spring the hostess is in karma.
There is no need to talk about summer.
But autumn is autumn! This is a gift to me.
    One thread for now

You, a bunch of radishes, bacon.
I left. The moon is like a turnip.
There was just not enough vodka.
And without vodka, everything is ridiculous.

      Re: Our-your poems.

      Scientific debates are popular now.
      People conduct scholarly disputes:
Where did the man come from? From microflora,
Or clay in the Garden of Eden?
I am personally a supporter of both theories,
They can be easily compiled into one -
God blew, spat into the ocean, and created ciliates,
And they crawled to multiply along the bottom.

Then, so that they can be seen better,
Lord, after thinking for a couple of days,
I made fish from ciliates, and then
He yawned sweetly in his beard
      And created stingrays and sharks
So that the fish have no housing problems.

Yes, only there was a hitch with sharks -
He sharpened their teeth for a long time under a trap.
In the meantime, tuna, herring, capelin and sardine
      Filled the entire world ocean.
"They will strangle each other with their bodies!"
Suddenly there was a voice in the midst of the clouds.
And the Lord sent a couple of billion fish to dry land,
By attaching paws to them instead of fins.

I made their teeth more powerful,
Tails and muzzles are more authentic,
And instead of scales - I handed over a bulletproof vest,
I rolled up the eggs into lime,
      Inflated and called eggs.
This is how the first Nile crocodile appeared.

Toothed fat in nests of silt.
Calories are good, what a bazaar is there.
And then one day, from the egg of a simple crocodile
      A simple dinosaur was born.
In a moment, a mighty tribe has multiplied.
They became the ruling class on Earth.
And what would you like, because in that golden time
They were the largest of the races.

But soon all the foliage came out,
      Bushes, trees and grass.
They ate two trees at a time.
      And how the food ended
The Lord from heaven said then:
"All right, lads, I'm taking you out."

But who would fill the empty place with?
And God created a new class very easily.
He called them "mammals", which is quite fair,
      Because they ate milk.
      They ate milk from birth.
Then they began to eat grass and others.
And so they wisely ate, drank, multiplied,
That God could relax by looking at them.

      But it became boring alone.
There is no one to brag to him
      The creator's rightful pride.
      And God, trusting in fate,
I decided to create a son for myself,
To enjoy the joy of the creator.

And so he blinded a man out of clay,
Dried in the sun, breathed in my soul.
And, sprawled on the grass, a clay fellow
Suddenly he sat down, scratched himself and yawned loudly.

"You are now Adam." God told him sternly.
"My son. And his face even went out into me.
Look, this is the road leading to the Garden of Eden.
Go, and I'll sleep here for two or three days. "

      Adam claims: “Father,
Since you are the creator and creator,
Come on, make me a legal wife! "
      The Lord told him: "Good."
He took out an Adam's rib.
“Here's Eve. And go, I will rest. "

Adam and Eve roamed the garden.
Basked in the sun, slept in the shade,
      Tasted an orange, ate grapes
And they decided to eat the apple.

And now they see such an apple tree,
That even Michurin did not see in a dream!
And this very Antonovka, big, bulk,
Adam tore off a branch for Eve.

But only for the second climbed,
How immediately God flies from heaven.
And well, shout, and cover my son with obscenities:
“What is it, the Mother of God!
Well, you just have to go to sleep,
How people begin to dissolve their hands!

Why did you break a branch, piglet !?
You do not regret the labor of others! "
And God, out of irritation, or maybe asleep,
Chased them out of paradise, and forever.
And our couple escaped from paradise.
Adam began to sow wheat and rice,
And Eva gave birth to a bunch of children to her husband ...
But then Charlie Darwin made a surprise for us:

Adam was seen to be something bad,
Maybe a eunuch, maybe a goof,
Or maybe Adam was watching his wife badly -
Once I left her alone ...
      And therefore (according to Darwin)
      We all descended from monkeys.

      Natural medicines

Natural medicines... With you sadok33.ru Summer is in full swing, the weather is hot and sunny. The air rings from the heat, everything is hot.

We look forward to the evening coolness. It is wonderful in the summer at the dacha, she feeds and heals. All the necessary medicines are under my feet. From weeds, you can prepare medicinal and restorative infusions, decoctions and tinctures. The main thing is to know your doctor and prepare the correct recipe, as well as to know the contraindications.

Us nature heals Everything should be in moderation, it is dangerous to get involved in self-medication. Let's talk about some plants today.

Stinging nettle - our old friend, improves memory, blood composition, heart function, but increases blood clotting. I mainly use nettles externally to rinse my hair after washing. To prepare the infusion, I pour 400 ml of two tablespoons of dry herb. boiling water and insist for two hours. I filter and rinse my head.

A good and useful herb is stellate, medium or, in the common people, wood lice. Useful for hypertension, angina pectoris, arrhythmias, liver diseases, arthritis, gout.

Infusion - pour one tablespoon with a glass of boiling water, leave for four hours, drain. Drink half a glass 3-4 times a day.

Spreading quinoa. It has a wound-healing, bactericidal, blood-purifying effect. It is used to treat the respiratory tract and stomach. Leaves can be safely added to salads and green cabbage soup.

Broth - 4 tbsp. Pour tablespoons of herbs with one glass of water and simmer for 15 minutes. Cool and drain. Drink half a glass three times a day.

Everyone knows big burdock, an excellent medicinal plant. Improves metabolism, diuretic and choleretic agent, lowers blood sugar. Broth - pour four tablespoons of washed and chopped roots with one liter of water and boil until half the volume of water evaporates, then add a little honey. Take a quarter cup three times a day. Externally, you can rub the broth into the scalp for hair loss and use for compresses for gout.

Everyone knows great celandine (Adam's rib, warthog), the plant is poisonous. You need to use it carefully. It has an analgesic and soothing effect and I only use it topically to treat skin problems (boils, corns, warts). Prepare the infusion - pour one teaspoon of dry grass with one glass of boiling water and leave for one hour.

My favorite herb is lemon balm. I love her for its wonderful scent. Experienced summer residents use it with increased pressure, irritability, insomnia and as a bactericidal agent. It is used in salads and canning. I love green tea with lemon balm.

Many years of folk experience teaches us to apply natural medicines to heal the body, but use it wisely so as not to harm. Good health to all.

Borage medicinal (Borage herb)(Borago officinalis L.)

One-biennial herb from the borage family. The homeland of the cucumber herb is the African Mediterranean coast and Asia Minor. It grows wild throughout Europe and North America. In the CIS, it occurs as a weed. Cucumber herb is grown in personal plots. In medicine, the upper parts of the plant are used, which contain mucus, saponins, potassium, silicon and organic acids.

Therapeutic action. The herb helps to improve metabolism, regulates the work of the heart, has a calming, antipyretic, expectorant, emollient, diuretic, diaphoretic and laxative effect. In traditional medicine in a number of countries, borage preparations are used for cardiac neuroses, respiratory diseases (bronchiectasis, pulmonary emphysema, cystic fibrosis), articular rheumatism, and gout in the form of an infusion. The people know the diaphoretic, diuretic, anti-inflammatory, emollient and slightly laxative properties of borage. In addition, it was found that herbal infusions improve metabolism, normalize cardiac activity and stimulate appetite.

Up to 36% of fatty drying oil is obtained from borage seeds, containing linoleic, oleic and linolenic acids. The components of borage oil are involved in the biosynthesis of eicosanoids, improve metabolism. It is used for the prevention and adjuvant therapy of bronchial asthma (A.N.Shikov et al., 2004).

In homeopathy, borage is recommended for heart neurosis, depression, to raise the general tone of the body. In folk medicine, a decoction of young leaves and flowers is used to "calm" the nervous system and when coughing. Flowers are also used as a diaphoretic, diuretic, anti-inflammatory agent.

Nutritional value. In cooking, fresh leaves and flowers are used, less often dried flowers. As a spice added to salads (from cucumbers, cabbage, spinach, celery with onions, lettuce), vinaigrette, minced meat, fillings, sauces, to fried fish. Punches and cold fruit drinks are flavored with fresh flowers. They are also consumed in a candied form. The aroma of the cucumber herb goes well with marinades and hot gravies. Dried flowers are flavored with bakery and confectionery.

      • Infusion of herbs. 1 tablespoon of herbs or 1 teaspoon of flowers per 200 ml of boiling water is infused before cooling. By 1 /4 glasses 4 times a day. Drink slightly sweetened.

      Common heather(Calluna vulgaris L. Hill)

Common heather, a small evergreen shrub of the heather family (Ericaceae), up to 1 m in height. Stem with reddish-brown bark, strongly branched. The leaves are overwintering, sessile, very small, almost triangular. They are located opposite, closely-tiled in four rows. The flowers are deflected or drooping, forming a multi-flowered, almost one-sided racemose inflorescence. The calyx is lilac-pink, less often white, glossy, the sepals are hard.Corolla bell-shaped, lavender, less often white, half incised. The fruit is a four-celled round-tetrahedral, fluffy capsule, with small seeds. Blooms in July - August; fruits ripen in September. Life expectancy up to 40 years. Heather is widespread in the European part of the CIS, Western and Eastern Siberia. It grows on poor sandy and sandy loam soils of varying degrees of moisture and on powerful sphagnum peat bogs in pine and mixed forests (S.Ya.Sokolov, I.P. Zamotaev, 1990). The common heather herb contains tannins (about 7%), arbutin (up to 1.5%), the flavonoid quercetin, saponins, resin, starch, gums, organic acids (citric, fumaric) and other compounds.

Therapeutic action. Medieval herbalists have preserved the knowledge of traditional medicine for us. According to these books, heather is an excellent blood-purifier and diuretic, "a wonderful remedy for stones in the bladder and kidneys, rheumatism and gout." However, this plant was gradually forgotten, until Sebastian Kneipp again discovered and especially praised its "blood-purifying" properties, its healing effect on rheumatism and gout. Heather tea is also used for eczema.

In a number of European countries, the flowering tops of heather are used as an emollient, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, diuretic, sedative, hemostatic agent. In many countries, infusion of heather is used for influenza, tracheobronchitis, bronchopneumonia, bronchiectasis, lung abscesses, whooping cough and various other infectious and inflammatory diseases of the respiratory system. The tips of the shoots are used (with leaves, flowers). In scientific medicine of the past - as a remedy for cancer. Officially recommended for use in Germany - for insomnia and as a diuretic in the Czech Republic and Slovakia heather tea - soothing, diaphoretic, emollient, promoting phlegm production. In folk medicine of Norway, Germany, Poland, Hungary, it is prescribed for rheumatism, cystitis, feverish conditions, skin diseases, diabetes, atherosclerosis, purulent inflammation of the urinary tract, as well as as a hemostatic and hypnotic in Poland and Hungary, baths are used for gout, decoctions, infusion inside - as an emollient, expectorant for cough, pulmonary tuberculosis, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, diuretic for diseases of the bladder and kidneys, kidney stones, pyelitis, cystitis, urethritis, ascites, rheumatism, gout with diarrhea, gastric dysentery, enterocolitis, enterocolitis. Powder and decoction externally - hemostatic, wound healing poultices and baths - for sciatica, rheumatism, leg edema due to kidney and heart disease, ascites, gout, tumors, bruises, dislocations and fractures. Juice - for insomnia, for cystitis, feverish conditions, diabetes, atherosclerosis, purulent inflammation of the urinary tract, kidney disease, urolithiasis and gout, rheumatism, eye diseases, for gastritis with increased acidity of gastric juice (used without honey), enteritis and colitis, accompanied by diarrhea, with diseases of the liver and gallbladder. Diluted juice (1: 5) externally in the form of rinsing - with tonsillitis, stomatitis in the form of lotions - with lesions of the joints of a rheumatoid or metabolic nature. Heather herb, along with other plants, is included in various collections. Used in homeopathy. The moderate ability of heather extract to have a resolving effect and lead to a decrease in temperature, the property to accelerate the recovery of patients with pulmonary tuberculosis, was confirmed at the St. Petersburg Chemical-Pharmaceutical Academy.

Nutritional value. In the old days, drinks were made from heather honey. In Scotland, there is a legend about the freedom-loving Picts, who in ancient times inhabited the spaces of this country, covered with heathers. They possessed the secret of making a magic heather drink - honey, which made people young and strong. The Picts were completely destroyed by the conquerors, but none of them betrayed the secret to the enemy. This beautiful legend formed the basis of Robert Stevenson's heroic ballad "Heather Honey". The flowering tops of heather are widely used as a surrogate for tea by weakened, elderly people with colds. Heather broth, thickened by the abundance of polysaccharides, is quite edible and is combined with any flavoring additives, acquiring a high medicinal and health-improving value.

      • Heather tops - 40 g, cetraria thallus - 20 g, licorice root - 30 g, elecampane root - 20 g, dandelion root - 20 g, oregano herb - 15 g. 2 tablespoons of a mixture of herbs pour 0.8 liters of cold water, leave for 3 hours, bring to a boil and insist in a thermos for 60 minutes. Take in warm form, 50–70 ml for acute, chronic bronchitis, pulmonary tuberculosis, chronic pneumonia.

Clove tree (Fragrant carnation)(Eugenia caryophyllata, Syzygium aromaticum)

An evergreen tree or shrub from the myrtle family. Cultivated in the south of China, Indonesia, India, Africa. Flowers, buds and fruits are used. The buds contain up to 20% essential oil, about 20% tannins. The essential oil contains 85% eugenol, 3% acetyleugenol and caryophyllene, which is an impure mixture of sesquiterpenes, vanillin, protein substances and mineral salts (D.A.Muravyova, 1983).

Therapeutic action. The antihelminthic effect of the medicinal infusion prepared from the flowers of the plant has been proven. Experiments have shown that the substances contained in the infusion paralyze or kill the roundworms of pigs. The essential oil of the plant and eugenol, which is part of it, have a bacteriostatic effect on the tubercle bacillus at a concentration of 1: 8000. Alcohol tincture of plant flowers in vitro has a bacteriostatic effect on diphtheria bacillus, anthrax pathogen, Staphylococcus aureus and white, paratyphoid A and B bacilli, dysentery bacteria such as Shiga, Flexner, cholera and plague bacilli, as well as influenza viruses. Plant preparations have a strong fungicidal effect on some types of fungi that cause skin diseases, but they do not have an irritating effect on the skin. In China, clove oil is prescribed as an antiseptic for some skin diseases of the skin and mucous membranes, with microsporia (V.S. Ibragimova, 1994).

Essential oil and eugenol are used in dental practice. In a number of European countries, oil is used as a stimulant and carminative. Eugenol is an antiseptic for all mucous membranes, it is part of the efkamon ointment. It is used as a spice.

The plant is not toxic, so there are no dosage restrictions.

Morisson's sorrel(Peucedanum morisonii Bess, et Schult.)

Perennial herbaceous plant of the umbellate family 60-120 cm high, with an erect, branching stem in the upper part, with basal (in the form of a dense rosette) and stem three times dissected leaves and multi-rayed umbrellas with small light yellow flowers. The horticultural root has a characteristic root: young - taproot, old - radish-like, slightly branched, with lumpy-warty brownish-black bark and a greenish-yellow core. In the place of the root incision, light yellow drops of sticky milky juice appear. The whole plant has a strong resinous odor. The horticultural flower blooms in July - August. The sorrel grows in the steppes and meadows, along the sides of railways and highways in the Novosibirsk, Omsk, Kemerovo regions, Altai Territory and Northern Kazakhstan. It is necessary to look for the mountain forest in the steppe and forest-steppe zones of the European part of Russia, as well as in the Caucasus. It is quite simple to recognize the mountaineer - the height of the plant is from 50 to 80 centimeters, small white flowers are collected in a complex umbrella, and the leaves are trifoliate or pinnately dissected. For medicinal purposes, only a powerful rhizome is suitable, which tastes sweet-spicy and sickening. The furocoumarins peucedanin, imperorin and bergapten, as well as essential oil and a small amount of flavones, are found in the roots of the mountain garden. Flavonoids, which include quercetin, kaempferol, isorhamnetin and their glycosides, have a P-vitamin effect and are mainly found in flowers and leaves (V.A. Kurkin, 2009).

Therapeutic action. In popular beliefs, the mountain peasant is better known as the Adam's rib, carrot or siren root. Since ancient times, in late autumn, herbalists have collected the roots of this plant to treat diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. In folk medicine of the Volga region, Siberia and Altai, the roots of the mountaineer are used as a diaphoretic, aphrodisiac, anesthetic, blood-purifying, diuretic and antiseptic agent. Mountainberry preparations are used to treat lung cancer, colds (ARVI and flu), as an expectorant of the upper respiratory tract, in acute and chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, as a means of improving digestion. Furocoumarin peucedanin enhances the effect of the anticancer drug thiophosphamide in the treatment of malignant tumors (at the same time, it does not have a significant effect on hematopoiesis). The substances contained in the roots of the plant (the drug peucedanin) were approved by the Pharmaceutical Committee back in 1961 as enhancing the antitumor effect in the treatment of malignant (lung cancer) and other serious diseases, in which chemical preparations are used that suppress hematopoiesis and the body's immune forces (prevents the development of leukothrombocytopenia ). Mountainberry root has a diuretic, antibacterial and antispastic effect, improves digestion.

Decoctions and infusions are made from the root of the mountaineer, because the rhizome contains in excess of essential oil and furocoumarin peucedanin. Essential oil is excellent in the fight against colic, peptic ulcer, enhances the secretory activity of the stomach and intestines, and also helps in the treatment of diseases of the upper respiratory tract. Furocoumarin peucedanin can treat breast cancer and some types of baldness. Before consuming mountain seeds, you should consult your doctor and make sure that there are no side effects.

      • Infusion: take 1 teaspoon of dry roots and pour 2 cups of cold boiled water. After 8 hours, the infusion will be ready. It is recommended to use it 2 times a day one hour before meals.

      • 50 g of dry crushed mountain rose root is poured into 0.5 l of 45% alcohol, insisted for two weeks and taken 25-30 drops 3 times a day before meals for lung cancer (Yu.V. Nikiforov, 1985).

      Elecampane high(Inula Helenium L.)

Perennial wild herb of the Aster family up to 1.5 m high. Distributed in damp forests, river floodplains, deciduous forests and wastelands, ravines in Russia, Central Asia and the Caucasus.

For medicinal purposes, the rhizomes and roots of elecampane are used. Raw materials are harvested in the fall after fruit ripening, before frost, washed, stems and small roots are removed, cut into pieces, dried for 2-3 days in the air, then dried in warm, well-ventilated rooms on racks or in dryers at a temperature not exceeding 60 ° C ... They contain essential oil, vitamin E, saponins, resins, gums, mucus, bitter substances, pigments, 40% inulin, polysaccharides, microelements of selenium, boron, zinc, copper, aluminum, etc.

Therapeutic action. The healing properties of elecampane have been known since ancient times. Mentions about him are found in the works of Hippocrates. In Ancient Greece and Rome, rhizomes were used for food, in the Middle Ages they were widely cultivated. In the XV century. it was known that elecampane has a "cleansing" effect (A. Amasiatsi, 1990). Avicenna pointed out that he has the ability to "strongly purify". In domestic traditional medicine, elecampane was credited with nine "magic powers" - a drink from elecampane has long been used to restore strength, health and as a disinfectant. In Russia, they were convinced that elecampane was endowed with unusual power that could heal a person from nine of the most serious diseases. The old medical encyclopedia “Cool Helicopter City” (reprinted in 1997) says: “The elecampane root is crushed and mixed with fresh honey, like oil, and it is pleasant in the morning and in the evening, it greatly delights, and from that the cough will subside, and the harmful wetness will be expelled from the inside , and the disease will take out of the lower back. "

Elecampane drugs have anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, expectorant properties. Decoctions and infusions of roots and rhizomes are used as an expectorant, diuretic, anti-inflammatory and tonic. As a strong expectorant shown in the treatment of upper respiratory tract catarrh with increased secretion, chronic bronchitis, tracheitis, catarrhal bronchitis, whooping cough, pulmonary tuberculosis, pneumonia, bronchial asthma, tuberculosis. A number of sesquiterpene lactones isolated from the plant have been studied for their fungicidal and antimicrobial activity. Under the action of lactones, in particular allanton, blood circulation in the mucous membrane of the pharynx and larynx increases, the regeneration process is accelerated, and the production of buffer substances is stimulated. Elecampane preparations are used in the treatment of acute and chronic respiratory diseases (bronchitis, tracheitis, flu, etc.).

Contraindications Elecampane preparations should not be prescribed to people with severe cardiovascular diseases. It is contraindicated in kidney disease. Decoctions and infusions from elecampane roots reduce the secretion of digestive enzymes in the stomach and, instead of benefit, can be harmful for gastritis with low acidity. Elecampane high, unlike the British, is contraindicated in female diseases with excessive menstruation. Hypotensive patients should be treated with caution.

      • Decoction of rhizomes and roots of elecampane high: 16 g (1 tablespoon) per 200 ml of water. Taken warm at 1 /2 glasses 2-3 times a day 1 hour before meals.

      • Alanton. Assign 0.1 g (1 tablet) 3 times a day after meals for 6-8 weeks.

      Dymyanka medicinal(Fumaria officinalis L.)

An annual delicate herb of the smokyanka family. The stem is erect, branched. The leaves are gray, three times pinnately dissected with narrow-linear pointed lobes. The flowers are purple-pink, small, with a long spur. Flowers are collected in narrow brushes. Blooms in May - August. It is found in the European part of Russia, in Western and Eastern Siberia. It grows in wastelands, landfills, in roadside ditches, in fields and gardens as a weed.

The herb contains fumaric acid and the alkaloid protopin, (fumarin), which has a stimulating effect and increases appetite. The plant also contains organic acids, phenolic compounds, and alkaloids: sanguinarine and 7 isoquinoline alkaloids and flavonoids (Encyclopedic Dictionary, 1999).

Therapeutic action. Dioscorides and Pliny were indisputable authorities for the authors of the herbalists of the Middle Ages. Already in the first herbal book "The Garden of Health" published in German (Mainz, 1485), and later by Leonart Fuchs (1543), it is reported about the smoke. And what is available in later herbalists basically coincides with this information: traditional medicine uses smoke for chronic constipation, dropsy, diseases of the liver and biliary system, gout, skin diseases and as a blood purifier, then to stimulate appetite and as a tonic , especially for anemic girls.

It is used in traditional medicine in Russia and in a number of European countries. The herb is officially recognized as a healing agent in France and Brazil, and is included in the British Pharmacopoeia. In the CIS countries, the herb is used in traditional medicine as an expectorant, diaphoretic for diseases of the lungs and bronchi.

Warning. Drugs containing smoke are not recommended for acute inflammatory liver diseases, hypersensitivity to the drug during pregnancy and lactation - only for health reasons. Internal use of the herb of smoke requires caution.

      • Infusion of smoke herb in a dose of 1 teaspoon per 200 ml of water for taking 2 tablespoons 4 times a day before meals.

      • There are preparations that contain extracts from the smoke, and the number of tea mixtures with smoke (together with celandine, peppermint, navel, centaury, wormwood and other herbs) is constantly increasing. But we can also use only smoke tea.

Angelica officinalis (Angelica officinalis)(Angelica archangelica L.)

Perennial herbaceous aromatic plant of the celery family with a thick short rhizome. Distributed in the European part of the CIS and Western Siberia. It grows along the banks of rivers, streams, lakes and in damp alder forests, in thickets of bushes. In medicine, a rhizome with roots is used, which contains up to 1.5% of essential oil, which includes sesquiterpene compounds, pinene, felandren, hydroxypentadecanoic and methylbutyric acids, etc. In addition, malic and angelic acids, phytosterols, tanning etc.

Therapeutic action. The scientific name "Archangel" reflects the popular belief about the unearthly origin of angelica: during an epidemic, the archangel gave people this healing plant.

Angelica root belongs to the group of the most versatile types of medicinal raw materials in terms of pharmacological action. Herbal preparations of the plant increase bile secretion, the secretion of gastric and pancreatic juice, and also increase the production of mucus in the upper respiratory tract. They also increase sweating and urine output. Angelica has an antispasmodic, vasodilating, disinfecting effect. It normalizes the menstrual cycle, eliminates painful sensations and cramps during menstruation, improves the condition of the cardiovascular system and the digestive tract.

Angelica root, possessing antispasmodic properties, is effective against flatulence, and due to its antimicrobial properties, it suppresses fermentation processes in the intestines. Angelica root extract has a calming effect similar to that of valerian root preparations.

Usually, Angelica preparations are prescribed for functional disorders of the gastrointestinal tract associated with a decrease in the secretion of gastric juice, glucose-minoglycans of bile and pancreatic juice, as well as for disorders of intestinal motor function (in particular, to relieve intestinal colic).

Angelica preparations are used for biliary dyskinesia, as a result of treatment, patients' appetite improves, the feeling of fullness in the epigastric region, belching, a tendency to nausea and vomiting, and abdominal pain disappear. Good results were noted when prescribing angelica preparations to patients with autonomic neurosis.

It has been experimentally established that angelica essential oil exhibits antifungal and antibacterial properties, which is confirmed by the popular experience of using angelica tincture during a cholera epidemic, with scarlet fever and other infectious diseases. In addition, angelica tincture as an external agent has long been used as an external agent for gout, rheumatism, muscle pain, toothache and ear pain.

Angelica is used as an expectorant and anti-inflammatory agent for laryngitis, bronchitis, pneumonia independently in the form of an infusion or decoction and as part of anti-inflammatory, expectorant and antitumor preparations. The use of galenic forms of angelica is effective for hypoacid gastritis, duodenitis, infectious nonspecific colitis, together with other medicinal plants of similar action in the form of complex collections and medicinal teas.

In Chinese medicine, angelica root is used for bronchial asthma, prolonged absence or heavy periods, infertility, anemia, tuberculosis, dysentery, phlegmon as an antibacterial, anti-inflammatory agent.

Nutritional value. Angelica rhizomes with a strong aromatic smell can be used for flavoring drinks, making "ginger jam". Young stems and stalks of the plant, boiled with sugar, are used as candied fruits and as filling for pies. In French cuisine, specially prepared unopened angelica buds are considered a delicacy.

      • Decoction of angelica roots: 10 g (3 tablespoons) of raw material per 200 ml of water. Hot for 1 /2 glasses 2-3 times a day after meals, as an antispasmodic, stimulating appetite, expectorant and diaphoretic.

The mother of the triplets turned to social media for help. 3 grandmother sisters responded

All young mothers know how difficult it is to cope with a newborn baby. And what to do when there are three children? There is no way to do without help.

Hayley Arsenault, 25, was surprised when she found out she was expecting triplets. She gave birth to three strong, healthy boys, but the trouble with them fell immeasurably.

At first, Hayley was helped by her mother, but she was forced to leave because she could not leave her job for a long time.

The young woman soon realized that she could not cope alone. She posted a request for help on social networks, not really hoping for an answer. But unexpectedly, three elderly ladies responded to Haley's post. Jenny, Alice and Anita were sisters and are currently retired at home.

They began to visit the young mother several times a week and sit with the little ones. This made it possible for Hayley to get the job done and get some sleep. The sisters themselves were only happy to mess with the kids, because their own grandchildren lived far away.

So a mother with many children unexpectedly found help, and her kids acquired three caring "grandmothers".
